Your team
You will be part of the Directorate Administration within the
Directorate General Corporate Services. Our Directorate consists of
three Divisions providing technical facility management, logistics and
infrastructure services as well as security and safety services.
As a trainee in the Administrative Services Division, you will join a
team of around 60 members of staff who are responsible for a broad range
of customer-oriented services, such as catering, support for meetings
and events, interpretation, logistics (including inventories, furniture
and relocations), cleaning, green care, business travel and mail
services. We also manage a central service desk. Our Environmental
Management team (Green ECB) oversees the maintenance and development of
the ECB’s environmental management system. Our Functional Support and
Operational Analysis team supports the Directorate in performing
comprehensive business data analytics, creating meaningful reports and
offering functional support for various IT systems.
We are continuously working to improve our services, reduce the ECB’s
carbon footprint and provide a work environment that meets the needs of
the ECB staff. We are looking for enthusiastic and open-minded trainees
to join the Green ECB or one of our services teams.
The ECB is an inclusive employer, and we strive to reflect the diversity
of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of
age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious
beliefs, sexual orientation, or other characteristics.
Your role
As a trainee in the Administrative Services Division, you will support
our efforts to improve our services and make them more sustainable. Your
tasks will be supervised and vary according to the team you join.
Depending on your individual strengths, you will work closely with one
of our service teams and related service providers, contribute to
tailored communication to our stakeholders, and/or contribute to various
environmental management activities.
In all teams your role may include:
* conducting research and drafting reports;
* compiling, analysing and visualising data;
* preparing and delivering presentations related to your activities and
those of your team.
Depending on the team you join, you could:
* contribute to internal communication activities about the team’s
services, and support the team’s service and supplier performance
management;
* contribute to environmental management activities and the EU
eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) certification process as part of
the Green ECB team;
* help coordinate logistics activities and support the ECB’s ongoing
transition to non-allocated workspaces, including assisting with
relocations;
* contribute to business data analysis and reporting.
The position offers you excellent opportunities to make a meaningful
contribution to services and activities that enable the institution to
deliver on its mandate. You will be part of a multicultural team that
strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives
of European citizens.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
* a bachelor’s degree or higher in facility management, business or
public administration, logistics, engineering, environmental and

international relations, information technology or another relevant
field;
* a general interest in European affairs, central banking and matters
of relevance to the Administrative Services Division;
* a demonstrable interest in sustainable services management, such as
aspects related to environmental considerations, processes, supplier
and stakeholder management or data analytics;
* the ability to analyse data and visualise information;
* a good knowledge of the MS Office package;
* an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command
of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages [2].
Desired:
* an analytical and innovative mindset;
* advanced communication, drafting and visualisation skills;
* knowledge of, and some experience in, one or more of the following
fields: service management, quality assurance, supplier/contract
management, logistics, relocations, stakeholder management, event
management, process management, facility management standards, business
and data analysis, or communications;
* familiarity with the requirements of relevant environmental standards
and regulations, in particular ISO 14001, EMAS and ISO 14064;

management and analysis (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Python, SAP Analytics
Cloud).
You are curious and eager to learn, and want to further develop your
ability to analyse complex information. You are keen to collaborate with
others, pursue team goals and learn from other people’s diverse
perspectives. You strive to know and anticipate stakeholder needs, and
will signal any need for change and propose alternative solutions.
You are motivated to contribute to the ECB’s mission, to serve the
citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with
colleagues from all over Europe. You are keen to be part of our team and
